Training
The foundations
Cheryl holds a B.S. in Government and International Studies from the University of South Carolina. She later completed graduate work in Theology and Leadership at Fuller Theological Seminary, and her M.A. in Clinical Psychology at Wheaton College.
After her undergraduate degree, she spent three years on YoungLife staff in Vienna and Budapest, working with young people across Central Europe. It was there she met her husband, Craig.

Three decades of listening across continents
Cheryl has spent more than thirty years as a clinician, working with adults, adolescents, parents and families through anxiety, depression and the quieter struggles that shape a life. Her work has moved through private practice, day hospital and a variety of levels of care and, for a meaningful portion of it, across continents.
Living abroad for eight of her adult years is, by her own account, the most influential experience of her life. It opened her to cultures, people and ideas she wouldn’t otherwise have met — and she sees its effects on her sons now, as they move into adulthood with a wider sense of the world.
It also made her pay attention. She noticed families struggling quietly – young parents feeling isolated, teenagers who didn’t want to be there, couples adjusting to a life they hadn’t quite chosen and she noticed how little support was available to them. Part of her practice today is shaped by that. She works with expatriate families virtually, so the help can reach them where they are. Today, a significant part of her international practice runs out of London.
